Building a meaningful drug-free life

Recovery can give many fresh emotions, so try to be mindful. If you have a way of many feelings, it could be helpful to start a journal to let your thoughts out.
• To make people that love you smile again. When you are addicted, people that love you suffer. They try to help you but eventually they are giving up on you. By changing your behaviors and maintaining these changes through long-term recovery you can start working on improving relationships with your loved ones. They will be happy to see you drug free and will proud of you.
• To create the future you deserve. When you live your life trapped in isolation your future looks unsurprisingly bleak. When you are drug free an entire world of new opportunities will open up. Get involved with your local services. Access help and support if you need it, volunteer or simply spend time at support groups if that would be beneficial to you in your recovery. Know that you deserve a better future. Work towards your goals one day at a time. You will make it.
• Because only you matter. Live the life you deserve. Make yourself proud. Believe in yourself, believe that you are worth it. If you don’t believe it, if you are full of self-doubt then let’s start with some positive daily affirmations.
